Covid -19 Message
2020 presented itself to be a very challenging year and with all its difficulties, parents and children just wanted to return to their beloved sport of hockey!
The 6ix Hockey spent the lockdown preparing for the mass influx of parents and players wanting to play as soon as Stage 3 was announced. We entered in as many tournaments as parents wanted and tried to serve our customers as best as possible.
Along with all the challenges, many new tournaments were added to the more well known ones. This year, we saw, 3 Points Showcase, The Last Dance, Summit Series and the Carnevale August and Fall series and the Elite Series be added to the list of local Toronto tournaments.
We’ll have to wait and see what happens for the month of October and what will be taking place in the upcoming months. As of October 10, 2020 Doug Ford has announced that the Toronto area has now regressed to Stage 2 but modified. Reducing limits to all social gatherings and organized public events to a maximum of 10 people indoors and 25 people outdoors where physical distancing can be maintained.
Prohibited are team sports games and scrimmages. Meaning team practices where there is no contact is okay.
Please be aware that any tournament operators may relocate their tournaments or leagues to other areas to avoid the restriction rules. Cities where stage 3 is still in progress.
The government is also asking people in the Toronto area to only leave their homes for essential purposes. Travel to other regions in the province should also be limited.
Stay tuned and keep safe!
